About Joe

Joe_Kelsie_RedRockCanyonJoe Coalter’s first event as an announcer had nothing to do with rodeos, cows or even horses but the showcase couldn’t have been bigger.  Joe announced the dedication of a baseball field designed exclusively for special needs children in Medina County, Ohio and the whole thing was covered by CNN.

While continuing to work with kids in the baseball program, Joe began helping out at a local Therapeutic Riding Center.  Although the folks at the center knew of his dedication to helping children, Joe’s horsemanship skills, learned from his grandfather, began to show through.  The combination of understanding children and working with horses led Joe to announce the Riding Center Ranch Rodeos the next few years.

In 2003, Joe and his wife Bobbie discovered the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting (CMSA).  Joe began right away making his first trip to the World Championships while Bobbie was a bit more cautious.  Over time they learned the value of participating in the sport as a family and coveted the fact the organization openly celebrates God, Country and the Cowboy way of Life.  Today, the Coalters all ride with the Northern Ohio Outlaws CMSA.  This includes 20 year old daughter, Kelsie, a special needs Cowgirl exempted by CMSA to ride in an under twelve age group.

Joe is proud to announce the events of the Outlaws while still competing in the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting.  He has become the voice of the Club at clinics and demonstrations including the Buckeye Stampede Rodeo and the Equine Affaire in Ohio.  Joe also serves as the Master of Ceremonies at the Outlaw’s Annual Banquet and in 2009 will lead the Club in Cowboy Church prior to each Sunday event.  He continues to announce CMSA events in Ohio and Michigan as well as Ranch Rodeos throughout the Region.

Joe attended Bowling Green State University from 1976-1980 on a dual sports scholarship for track and football.  He and Bobbie met there and were married in 1980.  In 2008 Joe was Ordained by the American Fellowship Church and has made it his goal to offer Cowboy Church at each event he participates in.

Hey Joe – Just wanted to say hello. We meant you at Circle G MVP show and chatted a bit. You played Who let the dogs out when I ran my horses. Anyhow my girlfriends mom Lynn Rmemington from the Medina County Home said she had the pleasure of meeting you at a horse show on the 16th of May.

We found it funny you live in Lodi as we live in West Salem. Lynn mentioned you would be possibly coming to the Swine and Dine in August for the Medina County Home. We both hope you will be as it would be a pleasure to see you again and visit!

Take care and hope to see you in the near future.

    Dawn and Clea
